The heritage documentation laboratory focuses on digital documentation and architectural survey of cultural heritage sites with non-destructive, non-invasive and paperless methodologies. Architectural survey is an evolving field in architecture that has been affected during the past decade by the technological advancements in the field of 3D data acquisition. Nowadays, digital tools allow for highly accurate documentations of cultural heritage sites, with minimum intrusion into the architectural or archaeological site. Such methodologies include the use of 3D laser scanning and photogrammetry in the research and analysis of built environments.
